Being able to switch between GPT and Claude per task is real progress — model choice used to be a black-box decision Microsoft made for everyone. The limit shows up at rollout: which models land in which tier, which region and under what data-protection terms stays open, and Office announcements historically take months to reach everyone.
Teams already living in Microsoft 365 should watch the model picker; anyone running their own AI workflows gains little new here.
