An agent swarm that cracks an open problem in fluid dynamics within 88 hours is a genuine breakthrough for compute heavy basic research. The catch: a Millennium Prize is only awarded after independent verification, and so far a single source carries the report.
Spending north of 40 million dollars in compute on one result also marks the limit of the method, it stays reserved for labs with very deep budgets.
