NotebookLM YouTube Chrome Extension : Links, RSS Podcast Feeds, Audio Overviews & More

TL;DR

NotebookLM can now import YouTube videos directly — either by pasting URLs or using the YouTube to NotebookLM Chrome extension, which enables bulk import of entire playlists or channels. Once videos are imported, NotebookLM AI features including Q&A and Audio Overviews apply to the video content. The extension significantly reduces friction for users who want to build knowledge bases from video libraries or RSS-based podcast feeds.

Nauti's Take

NotebookLM has long been one of Nauti favorite tools for processing long documents and transcripts — now it gets significantly more powerful. Anyone who regularly follows YouTube channels or podcast feeds can finally build a searchable, interactive knowledge base from video content.

The sticking point remains transcript quality: videos without captions or with poor audio will reduce precision. But as a workflow tool for content researchers, this is a genuine step forward.

Context

NotebookLM was primarily a text-document tool – native YouTube integration and the Chrome extension push it into new territory. Researchers, course consumers, and competitive analysts can now treat video sources the same as PDFs or web pages. The combination of RSS import and Audio Overview closes the loop: content comes in, gets understood, and comes back out as audio – a genuine workflow win for content creators and knowledge workers.
