This was predictable. AI is sold as a productivity tool, and productivity gains in market economies rarely end up with workers — they end up with shareholders.

Anyone who expected AI to automatically usher in four-day work weeks underestimated corporate incentive structures. What is genuinely needed: regulatory frameworks and collective agreements that ensure the fruits of the AI revolution reach those doing the actual work.

Without that, for many employees AI is not a liberation tool — it is just a new production line.
