For local AI this is real progress: 96 GB of VRAM in a mini PC fits large open-weight models without data leaving the company. The limit is memory bandwidth, since unified memory is much slower than a dedicated graphics card, so large models respond at a relaxed pace.
It pays off for teams with strict privacy requirements and for developers testing models locally. For training, a GPU workstation remains the better choice.
