Ask HN: How will socio-economic mobility look like in an AI future?
TL;DR
The advantages which previously resided with intelligence or skills now move to capital. This takes away one of the last pathways us peasants had towards socio-economic mobility. Intelligence is effectively commoditized. In a post-AI future, presumably non-knowlegde-work jobs like Pizza Delivery worker, Kindergarten teacher or even Plumber would still exist.
Nauti's Take
The single Hacker News thread is too thin to support a reliable forecast about the labor market. For small teams, the useful first test is concrete: which parts of the workflow does AI actually make cheaper, and who controls the data, customer relationship, and capital afterward?
That is where higher productivity turns into either more room to maneuver or deeper dependence.
