An extra day of warning ahead of a hurricane is real operational value, and the Nature paper puts a solid number on the gain. The limit is that WeatherNext learns from historical weather, so the events furthest outside past patterns are exactly the ones it may read worst.
We would run it as a second opinion alongside physical models, especially at agencies that already have evacuation playbooks.
