Industry comparisons in the Copilot impact dashboard

The Copilot impact dashboard now includes an industry comparison section, GitHub announced. Enterprises, as well as organizations not owned by an enterprise, can compare their Copilot agentic adoption and usage against aggregated benchmarks from their industry. The changelog does not explain in detail which organizations, license types or time periods feed into those benchmarks.

Industry comparisons give teams the opportunity to judge their own Copilot use more realistically than with internal numbers alone. The risk: without knowing the peer group, license types and time frames, activity is easily mistaken for progress.
