Agentic CLI customizations now in the usage metrics API

GitHub has expanded the Copilot usage metrics API with agentic activity, covering skills, custom agents, MCP servers, slash commands, and plugins. New fields such as totals_by_skill and totals_by_custom_agent list up to the five most-used entries with interaction counts, plus distinct usage counts per category. The fields show up in both per-user and aggregate reports across 1-day and 28-day windows.

Teams building their own Copilot customizations finally get usage data they can act on, an opportunity to steer enablement with evidence instead of instinct. The limit shows up fast: top five lists and interaction counts measure activity rather than quality, and a heavily used custom agent may simply be a badly designed one.
