Default model enablement for Copilot Business and Enterprise

TL;DR

We’re introducing a global default enablement policy for generally available Copilot models on Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise plans. Instead of requiring admins to manually turn on each new model… The post Default model enablement for Copilot Business and Enterprise appeared first on The GitHub Blog.

Nauti's Take

For developer teams this is a clear advantage and a genuine opportunity: new Copilot models are available immediately, nobody clicks through admin panels, and the gap between release and productive use drops to zero. The challenge is compliance and cost.

A model switched on by default may run elsewhere, price differently or bypass internal review. Small teams benefit here, while regulated organisations should walk through the policy settings once, deliberately.
