Dystopian and dehumanising: that’s what it felt like when I was interviewed by an AI assistant

TL;DR

Outsourcing the essential task of interviewing job applicants to a machine seems lazy at best, negligent at worst. I want better for all of us Over the past 15 years of my working life, I’ve done a lot of interviews for a lot of different jobs and industries: call centre operator, social media manager, bookseller, copywriter, library worker.

Nauti's Take

Teams using AI for job interviews should first test which answers the system can actually assess and where human judgment remains essential. Run recorded interviews with varied accents, speaking styles, disabilities and non-standard career paths, then audit the outcomes against human reviewers.

Without a clear human review route, the workflow mainly saves time for the employer while shifting the risk to applicants.
