The real step forward is the research itself: it makes the reach and patterns of these fake practices visible, so platforms can remove them deliberately instead of guessing. The risk stays enormous, because a confident synthetic clinician reads as more credible to a layperson than any package insert, and moderation usually arrives after the harm is done.
Legitimate health providers now have an opening to verify themselves visibly.
