Finally a credible alternative for enterprises that don't want their data on US servers — and with Schwarz Group as an industry anchor, Aleph Alpha suddenly has real use cases instead of just press releases. But merging two underdogs doesn't create an OpenAI rival, and ‚European sovereignty' with a Canadian lead partner comes with an asterisk.
Worth watching for regulated DACH enterprises, less so for teams chasing raw model performance.
