A $2,000 AI-generated film will make its debut at Tribeca
TL;DR
Tribeca Festival will premiere Dreams of Violets, a 75-minute fully AI-generated film that dramatizes Iran's mass killing of protestors in January. Brothers Ash and Pooya Koosha, who left Iran in 2009, made the film at their company Fountain 0 for roughly $2,000, drawing on journalistic reports, photographs and eyewitness accounts. The project is one of the boldest tests yet of generative AI as a feature-film tool.
