Show HN: Quiet – exploring when an AI assistant should intervene
TL;DR
I’m Ruggiero, a CS student working on a research project about humanComputer interaction and AI. I built QUIET because I’ve been thinking about a problem with current AI interfaces: they usually either wait for an explicit prompt, or try to take over a task. I wanted to explore a different relationship between humans and AI: an assistant that can understand when to stay out of the way, when to point something out, when to teach, and when to act. I’ve built a small interactive demo of this idea.
Nauti's Take
The first useful test is the interaction design: measure whether users immediately understand the four intervention levels and retain control over switching between them. Teams building AI workflows should verify when suggestions feel helpful and when they create context switching, false positives, or loss of trust.
