There's at least some real potential in watching this drama: a full month of Musk v. Altman headlines exposed how much the AI industry now runs on personality politics.
Substantively, however, little changes — neither OpenAI nor xAI is shifting strategy or roadmap because of it. The open question is whether these battles are crowding out genuinely important topics like safety and regulation.
