Introducing Muse Image: Image Generation Built for Your World

TL;DR

Meta is rolling out Muse Image, the first image model from Meta Superintelligence Labs, inside Meta AI. It now powers image tools across Meta AI, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The model is pitched as working with Muse Spark to plan prompts, use web context, blend multiple visual references, and render readable text inside images. Users can start from presets, draw edits directly onto images, and @ mention public Instagram profiles so Meta AI can use their photos. Meta says users can opt out.

Nauti's Take

This is a very Meta launch: technically interesting, but framed mainly as an ecosystem feature. The strongest product ideas are lightweight edits, presets, and Story effects because they push AI into formats people already use.

The riskiest idea is pulling other Instagram profiles into generated images. An opt-out is better than nothing, but for identity-based creation, opt-in would be the cleaner line.

Briefingshow

Muse Image shows Meta treating generative AI less as a standalone tool and more as infrastructure across its apps. The sensitive part is the @ mention feature: public Instagram photos can become input for personalized AI outputs, moving the debate from prompt quality to identity, consent, and platform control.
