Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indosat and NVIDIA Open Indonesia’s First University AI Center to Develop Local AI Talent

The opportunity here is talent, because anchoring AI skills inside universities instead of only shipping data centers builds capacity that stays. The risk is dependency, since curriculum and hardware come from a single ecosystem, and a launch announcement says little about actual research output.
This matters mostly for companies with engineering teams in Southeast Asia, less for anyone waiting on the next model release.
