Real operational data is far more valuable for detection models than synthetic scenarios, and protecting critical sites is a tangible benefit. What stays open is the data itself: provenance, consent, personal information and commercial-use permissions are undocumented, and the story rests on a single report.
For small teams the lesson here is data governance, not model selection.
