Google’s AI note-taking app now allows you to interact with books

The new "Expert Intelligence" feature allows you to bring titles from Google Play Books directly into Gemini Notebook, which means you can ask questions about the material, as well as generate plans, infographics, AI podcasts, and more based on their contents.

The upside is concrete: purchased books become a searchable knowledge base, and anyone who already owns the reference literature gets plans, infographics or audio out of it without any new upload work. The catch is verifiability, since page-level citations have so far only shown up in a demo.
Promising for people with a large Play Books library, while production workflows still need a check on export, access rights and copyright.
