This is not a marketing stunt. ” As someone who’s reported on AI risk for years, this wasn’t news to me.

The warning deserves attention, yet it remains difficult to verify as a single account reported by The Guardian. For small teams, the useful next step is a governance check: which models may act in production, which actions require approval, and how can a workflow be stopped immediately?
Those controls can be tested today, while broad extinction forecasts remain uncertain.
