Boox's new Go E Ink tablet includes a 10-inch display and runs Android 15

TL;DR

Boox has unveiled the Go 10.3 Lumi, a 10.3-inch E Ink tablet running Android 15 with full Google Play Store access.

Key Points

  • The key upgrade over its predecessor is a built-in front light optimized for both bright sunlight and low-light conditions.
  • Despite the added lighting hardware, the device weighs just 12.8 oz, making it lighter than the previous model.
  • Unlike most E Ink tablets, the Lumi supports standard Android apps, not just reading and note-taking.

Nauti's Take

Adding a front light sounds like table stakes, but it was genuinely the dealbreaker on the previous model – an E Ink tablet you can only use in daylight is a hard sell. Trimming weight at the same time suggests real engineering effort, not just a spec bump.

Android 15 on E Ink is still a compromise: most apps assume fast refresh rates, and the latency shows. For email, reading, and light productivity though, the eye-strain argument is legitimate.

A direct price comparison with the Remarkable 2 would sharpen the pitch considerably – something Boox leaves as homework for the buyer.
