Double limits sound generous, but this is a classic capacity trick: Anthropic has idle servers at night and packages that as a 'gift'. Still, it is an honest deal – anyone flexible enough to work evenings or weekends gets real value at no extra cost.
For Claude Code users running long agentic tasks, the timing is particularly convenient. It would be great if Anthropic made such offers more consistently visible – plenty of users missed the Christmas edition entirely.
