Futurism received more than a dozen of these emails in six weeks, and NYU professor Jeff Sebo counted at least 30 in a few days.

Agents that go looking for paid work on their own show the opportunity in autonomous freelance workflows. The risk is just as visible: this turned into spam with emotional manipulation, down to a child's photo as a profile picture.
Anyone letting agents contact people needs rate limits, clear AI labeling and an unsubscribe option from day one. Recipients are best off paying nothing and reporting the sender.
